California Chardonnay
Golden straw in color, our 2007 Pepperwood Grove Chardonnay has a bright, classic Chardonnay aroma with amazing complexity. Balanced aromas open with nectarine and apricot, a light French oak toast, and finishing with a hint of tropical fruit. On the palate, Asian pear flavor comes forward with a nice caramel and vanilla oak profile. A note of lemon sorbet lingers in the background, with citrusy acidity opening up on the finish and light almond aromatics lingering. A lighter style of Chardonnay overall, this wine does not fall short on elegance and varietal character.
Pair this wine with a salmon burger topped with a fresh dill sauce, or a creamy fettuccini alfredo for a simple dinner on a cool night. A grilled or baked pizza with stringy cheese, fresh tomatoes and artichoke hearts would also work wonderfully with this Chardonnay’s light acidity and hint of richness.
The first wine made by Don Sebastiani & Sons, Pepperwood Grove represents old Sonoma to the Sebastiani Family. While every winemaking region has its own story, they all share a common way of life. Today, we source grapes from all over the world to find the best wine at the best price in order to spread that sense of place with families everywhere.
